e intend to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of our employees and associated third parties are not exposed to health or safety risks by conducting our business in such a way that, as far as is reasonably practicable, we comply with all the statutory legislation and any other requirements applicable to the business of this depot.

I have overall responsibility for ensuring that this policy is implemented. Health and Safety Representatives will be appointed to identify and analyse accidents / incidents, carry out risk assessments, and monitor Health and Safety Legislation. I will monitor the policy through reports from the Health and Safety Representatives and regular meetings with managers. The day to day responsibility for these matters is delegated to all Managers Supervisors and it is their responsibility to ensure that the arrangements essential to the success of the policy are introduced within their own sphere of control.

In consultation with Health & Safety Manager I will be responsible for introducing procedures for accidents / incidents / ill health in accordance with current legislation.

The prime responsibility however rests with all individuals to conduct their activities in a way that does not risk exposing themselves, or others, to dangers through careless or ill-considered action. To assist in this aim we will provide information, instruction, training and supervision, as appropriate.

In particular, so far as is reasonably practicable, we will:
Provide and maintain work systems that are safe and without risks to health.
Maintain the place of work, including access and exits under our control, in a condition that is safe and without risks to health and adequate with regards welfare at work.
Provide and maintain a working environment which is safe and without risks to health.
Employees and other individuals are reminded that it is their duty to take care that accidents to themselves and others are avoided and that they are required to co-operate with, and identify to Management, Safety, Health and Welfare matters.

Employees should inform Management of any Injury, Loss, Damage or Near Miss so that preventative measures can be taken to reduce the likelihood of re-occurrence.

I will monitor and review this policy to ensure that Terry Swinson Transport Ltd, and it’s staff are kept up to date with the requirements and implications as they affect the business of the Depot.
